We are determined to help ensure that our beloved Twin Cities neighborhoods are supported, restored, and rebuilt with local independent small businesses that celebrate and support our diverse and inclusive communities. We are contributing to this movement by launching 33 1/3 Makers Co., a multifaceted company that includes an innovative Makers Space with a focus on sustainable art supply micro-manufacturing, Artist studios/event space, and urban agriculture; all with the overall purpose of supporting Artists and ongoing fundraising for programs of social uplift with a focus on the interconnected issues of human rights, the environment, health, and education.

We believe it is necessary to help improve the local market by micro-manufacturing sustainable art supplies that will be produced in Minnesota with recycled materials; repurposing discarded wood and other construction/demolition materials by partnering with local building contractors and governmental agencies. We will be creating a venue for Art, Music, pop-up dinners, and auctions. We will also be utilizing our rooftop and land to grow organic produce for local restaurants, food banks, and our pop-up dinners.

All net profits to be divided into 33 1/3 between the monthly cause, artists, and the company. With this non-traditional business model, artists will not only benefit financially from the sale of their work, but also shared revenue from events and the sale of retail items from our manufacturing program. It’s also a business model that helps to urge our current economy to take a much more sustainable course that benefits future generations and their environment.

Our goal is to continue a movement towards small local businesses that represent the powerful trailblazing visionaries in our communities who are striving for real change. We understand that in-person events are difficult, that there will be obstacles ahead; and we know that what we are facing is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. We will start by creating a multifaceted, contemporary, sustainable, and cost effective creative space that will give contemporary Artists, Chefs, and Musicians the tools and platform to elevate their voices and enable cooperative fundraising for a movement that helps to improve and shift the market.

With empathy, passion, and continued learning; we are determined to establish a fluid and equitable organization that helps to go beyond the systems and markets that exploit, marginalize, and oppress lower income communities. We are hoping to secure a space in the near future with a soft opening in Summer of 2024.

It is time to unite, organize, and work hard to bend that moral arc towards justice.
